Trenza

From Trenza's Family - July 2006

LOS ANGELES, CA...I am so sorry that our reply has taken so long--I haven't checked my emails in a very long time. Trenza is great!!!!! She is an absolute fixture in our family--everyone has their own specific role with her. My mother walks her every morning--I knew she loved her but I didn't think that she would even want to do that and she offered herself--and now they go every single morning. And, my puppy is so great, that she keeps a different pace with her and a different pace with me or my sister when we walk with her.

She's just amazing. She keeps my sister company while she gardens in the backyard. She knows that she can't step all over the back flowers and she's never even tried. She just loves watching my sister and sniffs around and loves to sit under the tree and in the grass and gets too many kisses as she's doing it!

And, we just recently found this great daycare facility--we looked at four other places before this one and this one was the absolute best. Last week we took her to get evaluated--all new dogs need to get evaluated to see their behavior patterns, etc. and she loved it!!!!! It has a bone-shaped pool in the back which she immediately got into! I never thought she would like the water like that but she never ceases to surprise me.

She is really very happy and I'm not just saying that to ease your mind--it's always what I've wanted for her and I can feel how safe and happy she is feeling. We're all about routine with her and she loves it. Every night when we tuck her in, my sister and I always say what a different life she's leading on this side of the fence. It's what she absolutely deserves. And, about the picture you sent us, go ahead and put that up on your site. She looks so cute in it!

Thank you again for the gift of my doggy and take care and give everyone our love,

Jennifer

Mura,Pepe,and family

From Pepe's Mom and Dad - May 2006

BOTHELL, WA...Pepe is more relaxed and confident --about us and the house and everything around.

Pepe is a very good boy; he is a dog with NO (or very few) bad habits. We still have to work with him for the way he approaches other dogs when he is ON THE LEASH.  But other than that--I can't think of anything --as a bad habit.

He is OFF leash now only when we go on Guemes Island during the weekends. He runs free on the beach and in the woods and sometimes goes ahead of us quite a bit but he ALWAYS comes back when called. He is even more obedient than Mura !(who is going through a 'teenage' stage right now and she is more rebellious at times!)

He is HAPPY to run free and we are happy that he trusts us. He is low maintenance and no trouble (comparing again with Mura who is just a "trouble waiting to happen pooch"--24/7). CUTE, for sure, but trouble never the less!!! :-) Pepe has put some weight on lately. He was only 68 lb about 2 months ago when we took him to the vet. We substantially increased his daily food and he eats it all.

And yes to your question about posting parts of my letters in your website.  I hope this would be an incentive for people to think of adopting a dog rather than buy a new one--considering what a good boy Pepe is :-)

Zeus

From Zeus' Mom and Dad - May 2006

TUCSON, AZ...Zeus has settled in and we have seen some minor personality changes as he has become more comfortable with his new surroundings. He shows some guard dog potential as he definitely lets us know when someone unannounced shows up on the premises. I don't think he will ever be friends with the pool man.

We continue to work with a trainer every several weeks to try to improve his skill set. He really likes our backyard, doing some minor excavating and making sure that there are no critters that dare to take up residence in his yard. He likes the backyard so much that he seems oblivious to sights and sounds around him, including people calling his name, which is why we are still working with the trainer. He acts a lot like a teenager that ignores his parents.

We just had our first large backyard barbecue party since his arrival this past weekend and he was the hit of the party. Everyone thought that he was well behaved and he did very little grazing from the guests plates. As long as we invite the guests into the house he is willing to make friends with anyone who will scratch him.

From Kona's (previously Bonnie) Dad - April 2006

CHANDLER, AZ. Ms. Bonnie is doing very well! I actually decided about a month ago to give her a new name, since this represents a new chapter for her without Clyde, and I have a cousin Bonnie, so it didn't feel quite right to always say Bonnie-sit, etc. After much deliberation, I decided on Kona. The first time I called her Kona, she got up and walked over to me, so I took that as approval. :) She's been such a joy to have around.

We haven't gone to formal training yet. Seems every time I have the money for a good trainer saved aside, something in the house or car finds out and needs repair! In the meantime, I just watch to stay away from other dogs, especially any off leash. She continues to be wonderful with people. I took her to the office the other day, and she was great with everyone there, even some kids that came in-everyone loved her!

I had a mobile groomer come out last week, and took some pics. She looks so good with the shorter hair and thicker furnishings.

The website looks great! I have been spreading the word, and will continue to check in to see what's new.
